KD PERANTAU
KD PERANTAU was built in Penang by Hong Leong Lurssen Dockyard. Using international callsign 9MNF, with dimension of 67.8m in length 13.3m in width, she has been served in Royal Malaysian Navy since 12 Oktober 1998 with pennant number A 151.
She has been design and equipped specifically for conducting hydrographic survey and also meteorology and oceanography observation. She also equipped with latest navigation and survey system such as Navigation and Command System (NACOS) and Hypack Acquisition System. Survey equipment include Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), Multibeam Echosounder, Hull Mounted Acoustic Current Profiller (ADCP) and other equipment for meteorology and oceanography observation. She also carry 2 survey launch onboard.
Administrarive, support and maintenance is under the command of HQ Fleet Operatin Command (HQ FOC), the directive of survey come from the Director General of Hydrography.
